TRIBECA NEW MUSIC FESTIVAL
Tribeca New Music continues its 2017 Festival season with On Behalf. This phrase “On Behalf" was drawn from an exchange between Killer Mike and Stephen Colbert on The Late Show and used to inspire seven new works by composers Will Ayers, Shi-An Costello, Alexandra du Bois, Molly Joyce, Nate May, DJ Sparr, and Dorian Wallace. The concert takes place at nancy manocherian’s – the cell, 338 West 23rd Street (bet. 8th & 9th Ave.) in NYC, on Sunday, November 13 at 4PM.

Join us for the Midwestern Premiere of The Response Project: ON BEHALF seven new works for violin+piano presented by Brianna Matzke and Hajnal Pivnick. Each of the seven composers have chosen to speak “on behalf” of an idea, person, community or condition. Some of the works were written on behalf of Earth’s future residents, on behalf of disability, and even on behalf of two Southern grandmothers.
Chase Public and their ongoing Response Project series will also present five local artists giving their own non-musical responses. Featured artists are actor Travis McElroy, photographer Kate Cunningham, visual artist Karla Batres, dancer Ashley Morton, and poet Scott Holzman.
